Roy Hodgson confirms ‘extremely talented’ Crystal Palace player is ‘injured’ and will miss trip to Aston Villa
Crystal Palace coach Roy Hodgson said a player was suddenly injured in the Premier League match against Aston Villa.

With Crystal Palace facing tough opponents, you want to have your best players to choose from.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Roy Hogdson, who spoke up at the press conference and announced that midfielder Jefferson Lerma was injured.

Speaking at his press conference, Hodgson said the player was injured while on international duty. Director said:
“Lerma was also hurt. He had an ultrasound this morning so I can’t give details but it was related to his hamstring. I also don’t know how serious it is.

Jefferson Lerma was injured during the international break
The Colombian international arrived on a free during the summer transfer window and he has been a great find for the club.

It was a great thing and not only did it add a bit of steel to the midfield but it also gave Cheick Doucouré more freedom to move forward.

It has worked well for the club and Lerma is certainly one of the main reasons why they have secured seven points from their first four games.

Therefore, hearing the news that he had a hamstring injury was a big loss. Hopefully this won’t be a long-term problem, but it looks like we’ll have to wait and see.

Currently, Palace must make a plan to play without their “extremely talented” midfielder. They have depth at the position with Will Hughes ready to play.

Lerma will certainly lose heavily, but hopefully Palace can get a result without their players against Villa.
