‘Shocking News’: BBC pundit seriously unimpressed with 24-year-old Everton player vs Luton yesterday

BBC commentators were really not impressed with Everton’s 24-year-old player in yesterday’s match against Luton
Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko was unable to cover up the glory as Luton Town claimed their first Premier League win of the season.

Covering the match for BBC Sport, Rachel Brown-Finnis spoke about the clash at Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche must have thought his team had taken a corner before yesterday’s match.

An impressive 3-1 win over Brentford finally gave them their first win of the campaign.

They then traveled to Aston Villa in midweek and knocked Unai Emery’s side out of the EFL Cup. However, Luton Town’s strugglers arrived at Everton with a game plan and executed it to perfection.

Tom Lockyer gave the visitors the lead before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised.

Carlton Morris scored the winning goal for Luton and Vitalli Mykolenko’s role in Everton’s unfortunate goal was highlighted.

The Ukrainian international played at left-back yesterday but did not have his best game for the club.

Everton cannot continue to lose points at home if they want to comfortably avoid relegation this season.

They remain useless at Goodison Park this campaign and have a big game against Bournemouth next weekend.
Mykolenko fought for Everton against Luton
Speaking about Luton’s winning goal, Brown-Finnis said:
“It was shocking to have to defend. “It was a simple run from Carlton Morris, one of the top scorers, number nine, who are you going to watch? It’s him.

“It took off [Vitalii] Mykolenko’s back shoulder, he took the free kick, it was a great free kick on the training ground.”

There are still positives for Everton even if Mykolenko doesn’t want to look back at yesterday’s performance against Luton.

Calvert-Lewin’s return to full fitness is a huge boost and the fact that he has found the back of the net is encouraging.

James Garner also looks to be in form, as he showed at this summer’s European Under-21 Championships.

However, the result must be quickly reversed or Everton will have to return to the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche will be so frustrated that he finally has a striker who can find the net but can no longer keep a clean sheet.
