Ottenham will be hoping for more good news this week on the injury front.

Spurs are waiting for an update on Brennan Johnson’s fitness after he missed the dramatic win over Liverpool, along with a number of teammates.

Rodrigo Bentancur is a long-time absentee and is gradually returning to the race, as is Ryan Sessegnon.

Ivan Perisic won’t be back for a while while Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso are expected back in the coming weeks. There were many immediate positives this weekend as James Maddison and Heung-min Son were fit to play after doubts. Here’s your latest update on Tottenham’s injury and return date…

Brennan Johnson

It is hoped Johnson will be ready to return to action against Luton this weekend following Ange Postecoglou’s recent absence.

The striker missed the weekend’s victory after being sidelined for an hour in the previous match against Arsenal with a hamstring injury.

“It’s nothing too serious but he won’t be fine this week,” Postecoglou said ahead of the Liverpool match.

Rodrigo Bentancur

The recent hype surrounding Bentancur’s potentially imminent return has been downplayed by Spurs, who are careful not to rush their return from a serious knee problem. “No changes,” the coach said. “All Rodrigo is doing right now is warming up with the teams, so he’s not doing it alone, but he also hasn’t participated in any meaningful training.”

November is still considered his return date.

Bryan Gil

After having to miss the start of the season due to a groin injury that required surgery, Gil is now said to be close to returning to action.

The Spanish winger is said to have returned to training and will be available for selection soon.

Ivan Perišić

Tottenham last week confirmed Perisic had undergone surgery following a serious ACL injury. The Croatian was pictured on crutches after surgery in Austria, ahead of a long road to recovery, which is expected to last around six months.

The left-back has taken a step forward in his recovery from a hamstring problem by returning to light training.

He is expected to be a few weeks away from being in the squad, but in Perisic’s absence he will be warmly welcomed when fit again.

Giovani Lo Celso

After being absent from the Argentina international squad for matches last month, Lo Celso was sidelined with a hamstring injury.

With his absence now lasting more than a month, reports indicate that the midfielder will be out for at least a few more weeks. MORE ON BRENNAN JOHNSONRODRIGO BENTANCURTOTTENHAM IS INJURED
