In the January transfer window, Aston Villa could try to recruit long-term West Ham United target Jeremie Frimpong.
Jeremie Frimpong has been on West Ham’s radar for quite some time, but it appears like Aston Villa may have beaten us to the punch, according to German media site Kicker.

West Ham were interested in signing the 22-year-old Bayer Leverkusen right-back last January, but he ultimately stayed with the Bundesliga club.
Hammers manager David Moyes is anxious for a youthful, pacy, and energetic right-back, either in January or next summer.
Frimpong would be ideal for us in my opinion, but sadly, it appears that Aston Villa are the club with the most interest in signing him…
The signing of Jeremie Frimpong by Aston Villa is bad news for West Ham.
If the Villans sign the 22-year-old full-back in January, it will demonstrate how ambitious the club is.
Frimpong would be a significant upgrade over Vladimir Coufal, and I believe Moyes should go all out to sign him this winter.
In just six Bundesliga games for Leverkusen this season, he has one goal and three assists (Who Scored).
During those games, he averaged one tackle, 1.5 critical passes, and 1.2 dribbles (Who Scored). So it’s evident that he’s an attacking full-back in every way, but don’t be fooled…he’s also a terrific defender.
The ex-Manchester City and Celtic striker appears to be the real deal. Frimpong was originally characterized as ‘unplayable’ by Celtic fan blog 67 Hail Hail.
Frimpong is lightning fast and plays with an explosive style that appears to be tailor-made for the Premier League.
Frimpong might fetch roughly €30 million (£26 million) from Leverkusen (Buli News). That appears to be excellent value for whatever club wins the battle to sign him.
Unfortunately for West Ham, it appears like Aston Villa will recruit Jeremie Frimpong to England in January.
