WESTS TIGERS striker James Roumanos is “hopeful” of a move to Super League in 2024 and beyond.

Having qualified for a work visa after appearing at the Rugby World Cup with Lebanon late last year, Roumanos is being chased by multiple clubs, League Express can reveal.

The 24-year-old was scouted by Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers before the transfer window closed over a month ago, but nothing came of it in the short term to seal a deal.

However, Roumanos told League Express that the deal to take him to Super League next season is still being worked out and he is “hopeful” an agreement will be reached.

At 24, the striker has made just one appearance in the NRL, with his solitary appearance coming in 2022 for the Manly Sea Eagles.

Roumanos moved to Wests ahead of the 2023 season, but failed to feature in a dismal year for the Concord club.

However, it was Roumanos’ participation in the World Cup that has made a number of Northern Hemisphere clubs eye his signing, with the 6ft 2in striker making five appearances for the Cedars since his debut national team in 2019.
