Leicester City striker makes unexpected early return amid ’emergency’ claim

Leicester City striker suddenly returns amid ‘urgent’ request
Latest Leicester City news as Kelechi Iheanacho expected to return soon from international duty with Nigeria
Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho left the Nigerian camp earlier than expected.

The striker was on international duty for the Super Eagles and scored in the 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia on Friday. He came off the bench in that match, with Leicester team-mate Wilfred Ndidi playing the full 90 minutes.
It has now been reported that Iheanacho will not be involved in the match against Mozambique on Monday October 16. That is because he has left their camp.

According to a report from Nigerian outlet All Nigeria Soccer, Iheanacho left the camp on Saturday (October 14). They claim he was excused because of a “family emergency”.

Ndidi seemingly remains with his national team, despite Leicester having a league game just five days after Nigeria’s next fixture. It remains to be seen if he will be fit for the match at Swansea City after a long commute.

Should Iheanacho and Ndidi both be available next weekend, they will be contenders to start against the in-form Swans. Their manager, Michael Duff, has already given his thoughts on the game.
