Three injured Barcelona stars will return in the match against Real Madrid
Barcelona are currently going through an injury storm that is hurting them in many ways. Almost without interruption, the Catalan giants lost one star after another to spontaneous injuries that forced them to miss important matches before a long period of recovery.
Currently, Barcelona has to deal with injuries such as Pedri, Frenkie De Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and most recently the presence of Jules Kounde. Some of these stars have been injured for some time, while others have recently joined the squad.
One of the most important matches for Barcelona after the ongoing international break will be El Clasico against Real Madrid. Scheduled at Montjuic Stadium on October 28, Barcelona will face Los Blancos with a severely depleted squad.
Key stars return
However, some good news has come in the form of a report from SPORT’s Ferran Correas. According to the journalist, FC Barcelona hopes to have three key players to face Real Madrid, because he believes they will recover before the match on October 28.
The players in contention to return are Pedri, 20, Polish talisman Robert Lewandowski and Brazilian winger Raphinha. Of these three, the player expected to return soonest is former Golden Boy and Kopa Cup winner Pedri.
Pedri
According to the update provided, Pedri looks close to returning and could receive the medical green light as soon as the international break ends. This means Barcelona could have the Canary youngster available for matches against Athletic Bilbao and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League before the Clasico arrives.
Lewandowski and Raphinha
After Pedri returns, Barcelona will welcome Raphinha and Lewandowski back in El Clasico. The 35-year-old Polish striker was injured in the recent Champions League match against Porto and has an ankle problem while Raphinha himself suffered a muscle injury in the La Liga match against Sevilla.
De Jong sat out longer
In case all three can return before El Clasico, Barcelona will eagerly welcome the good news. However, Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong still seems a long way off and his return to the first team could take some time.
