Aston Villa’s latest transfer news as Unai Emery’s side involves interest in the winger, who has impressed in the Championship so far this season.
Norwich boss David Wagner said Jonathan Rowe, who has joined Aston Villa, will have to “work even harder” to continue to progress.

The versatile winger has attracted attention with his performances in the Championship this season. The 20-year-old has scored 6 goals and provided 1 assist in 11 league appearances in the 2023/24 season, attracting the attention of clubs.

Reports this week claim Villa are one of the clubs tracking the young England international. He currently has just over 18 months left on his contract at Carrow Road, and the Canaries want to extend it, with talks over a new deal said to be ongoing, but at an early stage.

Scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Coventry City before the international break, Rowe further cemented his reputation on international duty. In his first call-up to the England Under-21 team, he came off the bench to score in a 9-1 win over Serbia on Thursday.
After his goal against Coventry, Wagner sent Rowe a warning about his current form. He also praised the striker for an element of his game that can sometimes go unnoticed.

“I hope he comes back healthy. “He has done very well so far and deserves all the praise, but he knows he has to start working even harder if he wants to improve and continue this form,” he said later match against Coventry, Pink Un.

“He’s a very smart guy. He will do what is necessary. He was obviously in a good mood.

“People can talk about (Coventry’s) goal, I’ll talk about the defense in the second half because it showed how determined he was to do the hard work for the defense. He’s a team player, he works hard. Obviously he’s scoring goals, which is amazing.

Rowe will continue to attract attention when he returns to the championship next weekend. If his fitness allows, he is expected to feature in Norwich’s Championship match against Leeds United on Saturday 21 October (kick-off 3pm).
