West Ham United may enter the transfer market in January, following a surprising twist involving one of their rumoured targets.
West Ham United news: Zouma deal, Paqueta departure, and Soucek formation
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, negotiations between the club and the France international about a potential new agreement at the London Stadium are due to begin.
“West Ham have contract talks scheduled with Kurt Zouma, so discussions will take place in the coming weeks or months, and we will see how it goes,” Romano said. He is the club captain and a crucial player for the Hammers, and there are no concrete conversations with other clubs at the time.”
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition October 15th, page 75), via Hammers News, a transfer update on West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta claims that the Brazil international is keen to move to Manchester City amid rumours that he has an £85 million release clause that will activate in the summer of 2024.
Meanwhile, West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek scored on international duty as the Czech Republic defeated the Faroe Islands 1-0 at the Doosan Arena in Plzen on Sunday evening.
Mexico defeated Ghana 2-0 in the United States because to Edson lvarez and Mohammed Kudus, while Jamaica overcame Haiti in the CONCACAF Nations League thanks to Michail Antonio’s 88-minute performance.
West Ham United transfer news – Kalvin Phillips
According to a West Ham transfer update on Kalvin Phillips, the England international would be interested in joining the Hammers – or Premier League rivals Newcastle United – because both clubs are competing in European play.
According to the report, Manchester City would ask around £45 million for Phillips’ services, which is around the cost he was brought to the Etihad Stadium from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.
Phillips has struggled to establish himself as a regular contributor for the Blues since his debut, falling behind Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic, and Rodri in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.
Phillips, who was rated “excellent” by Breaking The Lines in 2021, has only appeared 26 times in all competitions for Manchester City during his stint at the Etihad Stadium, and he has yet to score or assist (Phillips statistics – Transfermarkt).
Despite this, he is a frequent selection for England, and he came off the bench to replace Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on 62 minutes in their 1-0 triumph over Australia last week.
Moyes isn’t afraid to give homegrown youngsters a chance at West Ham, and Phillips would provide further poise and solidity to their already superb engine room.
