Bolton Wanderers hand minutes to summer signing after recent injury

Bolton Wanderers have a summer signing following recent injuries
Bolton Wanderers handed over their B team minutes to goalkeeper Joel Coleman yesterday, according to details on their club’s official website.
Bolton Wanderers take on AFC Fylde in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon. The League One team lost 2-3.
Coleman, 28, joined the Trotters in the summer on a free transfer. Since then, he has played in two tournaments with his new club. Their website said he received “playing time” against the Coasters after recently returning from injury. Luke Matheson also started.

Updated Bolton’s fitness
Coleman was signed by Bolton to compete with Nathan Baxter for the top spot. He has been on the bench in the most recent meetings.

The fact that he played the full 90 minutes against Fylde will now enhance his sharpness. The Bolton-born player has joined his hometown club on a two-year contract.

He spent last season at Ipswich Town and was part of the team that won promotion to the Championship under Kieran McKenna. However, he did not appear in the Tractor Boys before going out the emergency exit.

Coleman started his career at Oldham Athletic and played 45 games for the Latics as a youth. The player left in 2016 and has since had further spells at Huddersfield Town, Shrewsbury Town and Fleetwood Town.

Bolton currently sit in 6th place after the first 11 games of this campaign and are 1 point above Wycombe Wanderers in the top 6.

Ian Evatt’s side were beaten 3-1 at home by Carlisle United last time out. They will be eager to bounce back from this defeat after the international break. Their next clash will be at home to newly promoted Northampton Town. The Cobblers find themselves in 17th place.
