In a In heartbreaking news, defender Sasha Goranova has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious ACL injury in Saturday’s clash with Greater Western Sydney.
Goranova was attacking the ball in the fourth quarter and changing direction when her knee twisted awkwardly, she fell down in pain and was helped to the floor by medical staff.
“Sasha injured his right knee during the match and was sent off,” said AFLW director of high performance Wes Salisbury.
“She had scans Monday night and unfortunately they showed a torn or ruptured ACL.
“This is obviously devastating for her and the program, but as a club we will look after her as best we can and she will enter the recovery processes us in the coming weeks.”

Ruck Sarah Lakay is recovering from an aggravated back disability and will face her final test this week.
“With Sarah, she has made a lot of progress in her rehabilitation,” said Salisbury.
“The final final test will be for her to complete her main training today and if she does, she will be available for selection at the end of the week.”
