Brett Morris is expected to take on a new coaching role at the Sydney Roosters after joining the coaching staff two seasons ago.


Joining the Sydney Roosters coaching staff in 2022 after retiring from rugby, Brett Morris is set for a promotion. Currently the club’s assistant coach, he is expected to take on two roles with the Roosters next season.
Sydney Roosters life member and Roosters Hall of Fame selection committee member Alan Katzmann has revealed that Brett Morris will become the club’s new NSW Cup coach.
Morris will replace Anthony Barnes. Barnes was promoted to head coach of the NSW Cup after a long period looking after the Jersey Flegg team. It is unclear whether Barnes will remain at the club in another role.
Like most NSW Cup coaches, he will likely remain an assistant coach, under Trent Robinson for the first grade team, alongside Matt King, Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend.

The former New South Wales and Australia winger has had a stellar career, spending much of his time at the top of the pile when it comes to wingers at the top of the sport.


The 34-year-old played 276 games for the Dragons, Bulldogs and Roosters, as well as consistently representing the NSW Blues and in one international match with the Kangaroos. “Brett has played over 300 NRL and representative games and he has a sharp mind with a real focus on making the players around him better,” Trent Robinson said in 2021 after when Morris joined the coaching staff for the following season.
