DONE DEAL:
Collingwood and Fremantle agree on deal for Lachie Schultz – AFL trade news
The two sides agreed to terms for a trade on Monday.
Collingwood have added further forward class to an already premiership-level list after acquiring Lachie Schultz in a trade with Fremantle.

The 25-year-old forward announced his intention to move last Monday as the trade period kicked off, selecting Collingwood as his club of choice.
Being their most prolific goal-kicker with 63 majors in the past two seasons, Fremantle were disheartened by the trade request and wanted more than Collingwood’s reported offer of Pick 19 in the upcoming draft.
After more than a week of negotiations, the two clubs have settled on selection of Pick 34 and the Magpies’ 2024 first-round selection in a deal for Schultz.
Fremantle’s frustrations are evident in a desperate four-year deal with former Hawk Tyler Brockman to replace small forward.
But the 20-year-old speedster has agreed terms with his west coast rivals, leaving the Dockers with a hole up front to fill alongside Sam Switkowski and Michael Frederick, while Michael Walters played his final seasons.

The Magpies suddenly possess one of the most dangerous small and medium-sized forward brigades in the league, adding to the list Norm Smith Medalist Bobby Hill along with clutch star Jamie Elliott and playmaker explosive pressure Beau McCreery.
Despite losing Taylor Adams to Sydney, Collingwood are no longer eyeing big deals in the trade window, and with no major recruitment this year, they appear to have settled in
The Dockers look to be in trouble, losing Liam Henry to the Saints and Schultz coming to the Pies without the equivalent salary the player may need to improve in 2024, which is the year Justin Longmuir’s contract.

The trade period ends a down year for Fremantle, as they enter next season as one of the teams under the most pressure to perform.
The Dockers currently have three first-round picks for 2024, having held on and Port Adelaide are pursuing a trade with the Power earlier this season.
