Carlton coach Michael Voss remained optimistic when asked about McKay’s condition at half-time.
“I think he’s OK. But you always take the time to evaluate him on Monday,” Voss told Fox Footy.
“We didn’t want to take any more risks so we replaced him.”
Asked if Voss’s comments were a sign he was trying to put on a brave face, Melbourne champion Garry Lyon told Fox Footy:
