Adelaide and Melbourne agree terms on striker’s departure – AFL Trade News
A deal has finally been reached for the top flight.
Melbourne have officially acquired Adelaide striker Shane McAdam out of contract in a deal with the Crows.
McAdam made his intention to move clear before the start of this year’s trade period; officially requested a move from Adelaide to the Devils this season.

On Tuesday, Melbourne made a trade offer to Adelaide for the runaway Crows; one of their two future second-round draft picks.
The future second rounder will be one of two the Devils are currently in possession of following the transfer of ruckman Brodie Grundy to the Sydney Swans.
The two sides reached an agreement Tuesday morning.

While the Dees worked to facilitate McAdam’s arrival, the Crows had been intrigued by the prospect of luring South Australian Demon Harrison Petty to West Lakes this off-season, potentially as part of a deal that sent McAdam to Melbourne.

It wasn’t to be, however, as the Dees remained adamant in their desire to retain Petty, particularly as he is presently under contract at Melbourne.

In other Demons player movement news, in addition to Grundy’s departure, Melbourne also farewelled out-of-favour midfielder James Harmes to the Western Bulldogs in exchange for a future third-round selection last week. The club also lost James Jordon to Sydney via free agency.
Melbourne recruited Brisbane tall Tom Fullarton last Friday in exchange for Pick 47.
This year’s trading period is scheduled to close on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:30pm (AEDT).
