th Washington announced they have opened a 21-day training window for DT Phidarian Mathis.. He will return to practice today and the team will then have three weeks to activate him from injured reserve or keep him out for the remainder of the season.. Mathis was placed on IR after the team cut the roster to 53 players before the start of the season..
Mathis injured his calf in the first preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.. He was also injured in the first game of his rookie season last year, tearing his meniscus and going on injured reserve.. He was a 2nd round pick and now he could get a chance to play his second season this Sunday at home against the Philadelphia Eagles..
