Boston Globe journalist Ben Volin reports that the Lions held a workout with Kennedy on October 25, although it remains unclear whether the team intends to let him sign contract or not..
According to a report by ESPN, Kennedy was recruited to Bryant University to play lacrosse and soccer.. He was then selected in the third round by the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse in the 2018 draft and signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2019.. This left he became the first athlete to play in professional lacrosse and the NFL..

Kennedy spent the next three seasons in Detroit, hauling in 14 catches for 195 yards.. He returned to training camp this year, but his time was cut short after suffering an arm injury.. As CBS Sports reported, the Lions waived Kennedy in August with an injury settlement, though he is now eligible to return to the team if they choose to re-sign him..
Lions lose veteran receiver
The workout with Kennedy comes after the Lions parted ways with Jones, who said he had to withdraw from the team for personal reasons.. In a post on his Instagram page, Jones explained that leaving was difficult for him but that he had to take care of his family..

I just want to say that I have great love and respect for the Ford family, the city of Detroit, my teammates and coaches,” Jones wrote.. “In short, I will be leaving the team to take care of myself..” and family issues.. Although it was not an easy decision, I cannot be the person/player I need to be for this team and take care of my family from afar..
Lions has seen some changes turnover in their receiving corps in recent weeks, including previous returns…compared to expectations for second-year receiver Jameson Williams.. He was initially suspended six games for the violation league rules against gambling, but the NFL shortened his suspension to four games as part of a broader overhaul of gambling sanctions..

Williams only produced limited action as a returner, making four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown, but he struggled at times.. Williams had no receptions on three targets in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens, with two big drops late in the fourth quarter..
