Leigh Leopards are showing interest in Leeds Rhinos full-back Derrell Olpherts
The Leopards are still looking to expand their squad for the new season.
Leigh Leopards have expressed an interest in signing Derrell Olpherts from Leeds Rhinos, according to Rugby League Live. Olpherts’ stay at Headingley appears to be coming to an end after just one season after the Rhinos made him available for the 2024 season.
And the Leopards are said to be interested in a move for the 31-year-old as part of their preparations for next year, allowing them to add significant depth to their squad ahead of the new campaign.. Adrian Lam, who managed to retain all his prized assets before the

announcement, has bolstered his team with young talent, but Olpherts is identified as someone who can add competition to the side.

Additionally, the Olpherts will provide the pace that Leigh perhaps lacks in their advantage, as well as doing a good job in terms of distance. Olpherts finished the 2022 Super League season with more tackles than any other player in the competition.. This saw him move from the Castleford Tigers to the Rhinos, but he endured a difficult year at Headingley, making just 14 appearances.
Bradford Bulls land Canberra whore Raiders in an eye-catching addition.
Rhinos are now likely to withdraw early and although an agreement is not believed to have been reached with the Challenge Cup holders, some discussions are said to have taken place.

Leigh is also still looking for a main full-back for next season. The club had expressed an interest in Brodie Croft and Anthony Milford, but Croft has now joined Leeds amid reports that the Milford deal had collapsed, forcing the club to consider their options. Surname. Olpherts played 108 Super League matches, scoring 49 tries. His former clubs include Salford Red Devils and Castleford, as well as the Rhinos.
