The League Leaders’ Shield holders won 42-12 to reach the Final 12, where the Catalan Dragons will be waiting for them thanks to a 12-6 win over reigning champions St Helens on Friday.
Going into Saturday’s game on an eight-match winning streak since their 11-10 defeat to Hull in the Challenge Cup semi-finals, Wigan avenged that defeat with a 64-9 win over KR in early August.
Two months later, the 22-time Super League champions were in a similarly ruthless mood against their beleaguered opponents, with Liam Marshall scoring twice and Jai Field also crossing the line within the first 12 minutes as Wigan led 18-0.
Elliott Minchella gave Hull some hope in the 22nd minute, but handling errors hampered the Robins, and Marshall completed his hat-trick just four minutes after the restart.
The second half continued similarly to the first, with Abbas Miski and Toby King also scoring along with Field’s second, before Jez Litten gave the sullen fans something to celebrate with a belated attempt at consolation.
