Carlton Football Club can confirm three changes to its squad following the conclusion of the 2023 AFL season, with Josh Honey, Sam Philp, and Lochie O’Brien leaving IKON Park.
O’Brien has made 66 appearances in six seasons with the Blues since joining the club at the end of 2017. The 23-year-old has made six appearances this season.


Honey has played 17 games in four seasons at the club, making his debut in Round 12 in 2020.
Philp has played two games in his four seasons at IKON Park, with injuries limiting his ability to take advantage of senior opportunities over the past three years.
Carlton head of squad management, Nick Austin, recognized the efforts of each player.

“Lochie has spent six seasons at the football club and has built some great relationships in that time. He is a quality character who we know will serve him well for what’s ahead,” Austin said.
“Josh and Sam’s ability to continue in the face of adversity throughout their four seasons at the club

 

is a great testament to their resilience, which has no doubt been borne out by their teammates, coaching members, and the entire football department, which is highly appreciated.
“The club wishes all three players the best for the next chapter in their journey.”
