The Saints will face a new Bears threat on Sunday following a significant trade
When the New Orleans Saints face the Chicago Bears in the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, they will encounter an improved pass rush.
According to several sources, the Bears traded a second-round draft pick to the Washington Commanders on Tuesday for defensive end Montez Sweat, who has 6 1/2 sacks this season.
Sweat, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 262 pounds, finished his college career at Mississippi State, where he recorded 22 1/2 sacks.
Sweat, who is 27, piled up of 35 1/2 sacks during his five seasons with the Commanders, putting up a career high of nine in 2020. During that, time he put 85 hits on the quarterback and had 47 tackles for lost yardage.
The Saints’ offensive line has done a better job of protecting quarterback Derek Carr in recent weeks, but Sweat will present a new challenge on Sunday
