Tributes have been paid to former Villarreal striker Franco Acosta, who was found dead on Monday, aged 25. The Uruguayan attacker disappeared two days ago after trying to swim across Arroyo Pando, located in Canelones, with his brother. The body of young Franco Acosta, who

The striker was then loaned to Racing Santander for the 2017-18 season, where he scored once in eight appearances.
He then had loan spells at Uruguayan clubs Boston River and Plaza Colonia before signing a permanent deal with Atenas last year.

Acosta was a star at his country’s youth level – scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances for the Under-17s and six at Under-20 level, but never appeared for the national team.
