What’s being said nationally after Detroit Lions’ electrifying win in Los Angeles
INGLEWOOD, Calif. — There were a combined 79 points and seven fourth-down conversions, making for an electrifying win in Detroit’s first game back from the bye week.
The Lions went into Los Angeles and outlasted the Chargers in a 41-38 shootout for their seventh win of the season. Detroit’s offense kept its foot on the gas as the defense struggled to get quarterback Justin Herbert off the field.
Both teams also scored in every quarter, so it was rocking inside of SoFi from start to finish. It was one of those games where it felt like whoever had the ball last would be the victors, and that’s exactly what happened in Los Angeles.
The Lions moved into scoring position, then milked the clock and the Chargers of their timeouts to set up the buzzer-beating field goal. Riley Patterson nailed the 41-yarder as time expired, with the Lions getting a much-needed win ahead of two divisional games in the span of 11 days.
