Good news for Seattle Mariners

Seattle Mariners Make Key Hire on Coaching Staff, Lure Brant Brown Away From Miami Marlins

After going in for an interview on Wednesday, Brant Brown has been hired by the Seattle Mariners as a new hitting coach.

After spending one season as the hitting coach for the Miami Marlins, Brant Brown is heading to Seattle to join the Seattle Mariners coaching staff.

Daniel Kramer of MLB.com had the news:

The Mariners have an agreement in place to bring Brant Brown onto their coaching staff, according to a source … Brown was the Marlins hitting coach last season, his lone in Miami.

The role is unspecified at the moment but we heard on Wednesday that there may be a more prominent role in Seattle for Brown if he were to take a job.

Earlier in his career, he worked with Seattle at the minor league level.

It’s not a shock that Brown would want a job with Seattle. After all, it’s a more prominent role reportedly and the team has won 88 games or more in each of the last three seasons and appears close to being ready to compete again on a national stage.Seattle Mariners Make Key Hire on Coaching Staff, Lure Brant Brown Away From Miami Marlins - Fastball
