Former Tennessee Titans Taylor Lewan jokes about his retirement from the NFL, but is he serious?
Former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan is staying in the news cycle on the first Sunday of the NFL season without being on a team.
At first, it looked like Lewan had announced his retirement on Barstool Sports’ “The Pro Football Football Show” on Sunday. But later he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was not retired, and that the 5-second bit (out of a 58-second clip) that Barstool Sports released did not include context.
But even his social media response left the question unanswered: Is the three-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle retired?
Either way, does it look like Lewan is ready to give up the microphone for blocking guys like Myles Garrett off the edge?
Lewan, who played his entire nine-year career with the Titans, has looked noticeably thinner since his last game, which was Week 2 of the 2022 season against the Buffalo Bills. The Michigan alum injured his right knee in that game and was lost for the rest of the season. The Titans waived him during the offseason.
