Commanders fire defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio in wake of blowout loss to Cowboys
After a blowout at the hands of a division rival, the Commanders are making a coaching change.
Washington is firing defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday. The move comes the morning after the Commanders lost to the Cowboys 45-10 on Thanksgiving Day.
This was Del Rio’s fourth season serving as the DC in Washington after being hired in 2020.
The Commanders are also parting ways with defensive backs coach Brent Vieselmeyer, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.
