‘This place…’ – Conor Coady sends a clear and shocking message to West Brom after Leicester win

Conor Coady reacts to Leicester win v West Brom with new message

The Black Country derby is a rivalry that lives in the minds of every West Brom and Wolves fan across the country and Conor Coady is no different.

Coady, who signed permanently at the King Power Stadium last summer, was a part of Leicester City’s squad for their 2-1 victory over West Brom on Saturday (2 November).

However, it was clear that his former team Wolves were still in his mind, and his hatred towards the Baggies too, thanks to the rivalry between the two Midlands clubs.

Captioning his Instagram story, Coady wrote: “Always nice getting a win at this place.”

Hatred across different divisions

West Brom versus Wolves is a rivalry that some fans are yet to experience, with the two sides not often meeting for a few years at a time.

The 2021/22 Premier League season was the last time the derby happened, with West Brom first pulling off a 3-2 away win before a 1-1 draw in the reverse leg at Molineux.

But despite the loss to the league leaders on Saturday, and the antagonising story from the player, Baggies fans will still be able to laugh at him with many already doing so.

The 32-year-old was captain of Wolves before going out on loan to Everton last season, where he was dropped by Sean Dyche in the end-of-season run-in. Now, having joined the Foxes in the Championship, he has been designated a cosy spot on the bench, with Jannik Vestergaard and Wout Faes preferred instead.

It has been a downhill journey for the ex-England international. Replaced by 33-year-old Craig Dawson at Wolves, James Tarkowski at Everton, and now the centre-back duo at the King Power, Coady has become second-best.

It might be West Brom fans with the last laugh when thinking about Coady’s current situation, even despite his gloating after the Baggies’ fifth loss of the season.

In other West Brom news, the doomsday clock doesn’t care for Albion’s Championship form as it ticks down towards a deadline.
