Good news for Tottenham: He is back after a long injury break

£25m Tottenham player now training on grass as he nears return

Amid a month of negative injury updates at Tottenham Hotspur, there is now some good news ahead of the festive period.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs squad is crying out for reinforcements, and the return of one 23-year-old could prove very timely.

Although he’s still in the early stages of a recovery, Ryan Sessegnon has now been spotted training on grass.

Tottenham uploaded a video of Sessegnon’s recovery to Instagram, and the defender looked in good shape as he finally returns from injury.

Since signing for £25m many moons ago, Sessegnon has had terrible luck with injuries, a player who looked destined for the top of the game.

Of course, still only 23, the left-back still has exciting potential if he can maintain good condition for an extended period.

There is also the feeling that Sessegnon could be a brilliant fit for ‘Ange Ball’, a full-back with excellent attacking instincts.

And whilst Destiny Udogie would prove very hard to displace, Sessegnon could do an excellent job as an understudy.

Moreover, there’s also the possibility the England youth international could be used further up the pitch, as he was at Fulham.

Tottenham fans delivered good news as Ryan Sessegnon steps up injury return

It’s currently unclear when Spurs fans can expect Sessegnon to return to the first team, but patience would seem advised.

That being said, it seems as if Ange Postecoglou may show caution on Pape Matar Sarr’s return too.

The midfielder is unlikely to return against West Ham United tomorrow, with the weekend looking more realistic.

Either way, Tottenham will be over the moon to have Cristian Romero back from his lengthy ban.Ryan Sessegnon makes bold changes to his social media after being ruled out for six weeks in latest blow to Tottenham | The Sun

The defender has been sorely missed, and his red card against Chelsea now seems like a long time ago.

In his absence, Ben Davies’ good form does bode well for Tottenham coping until Micky van de Ven returns from injury.

A pairing of Romero and Davies should tie Postecoglou’s side over quiet nicely through a busy fixture list to come.
