Is Braxton Jones a real person? Left Tackle is locked in, as is our Weekly Bears Confidence Poll.
We have a couple more questions for our followers this week. First, we have our usual confidence poll, and it will be interesting to see how our fan base fared during the bye week.
When we last saw our Chicago Bears on the field, they were eking out a last-second 12-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. It was a rough game, but it was Chicago’s fourth win in their past eight games, Coach Matt Eberflus’ first-ever divisional victory, and several of GM Ryan Poles’ players performed admirably.
But, with no Bears game over the weekend, you had plenty of time to relax.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, who has had his finger on the pulse of the Bears for decades, told host Bill Zimmerman that Poles has a “strong working relationship” with Team President Kevin Warren and that Poles is a good bet to return for a third year.
So, does the prospect of Poles returning make you feel better about the franchise’s future?
However, the media has been all over the place when it comes to Eberflus. Will a good finish be enough to save him? Did his disastrous start, combined with historic defeats, clinch his fate?
If he stays, the Bears should run it back with Justin Fields, but a new head coach would undoubtedly prefer to build around his own guy.
And, speaking of construction, has left tackle Braxton Jones demonstrated enough to be considered a potential building block?
He was solid as a rookie, and I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen from him this season. He was flagged six times in the first two weeks, then missed the next six games due to a neck ailment, but he’s played well since his return.
