AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The reaction of an 11-year-old boy to the Longhorns making the playoffs has gone viral. Knox Kendall cheers for the Texas Longhorns, but he was born into an Aggie family and wore an A&M maroon onesie home from the hospital.

Knox, however, was intrigued at the age of three, wondering what the team in burnt orange was all about.
Even if it meant going against the wishes of his Aggie parents.

“If we’re really good parents, we won’t be mad at him for being a kid.”

Knox became emotional after learning that the Texas Longhorns had made the college football playoffs.

“Everything was just rushing through my head,” said Knox. “We’re in, no one can take this spot from us, we’re in, it’s locked, it’s good.”

His parents were encouraging.

“I’m a total maroon Aggie, but I’m bawling my eyes out because I’m so happy for him and his team and everything this means to him,” Brittany said.

His parents were encouraging.

The video has received thousands of views and has even piqued the interest of the University of Texas president.

“I’m going to put that as a supplemental part of his application,” she said.

But first, there’s the Sugar Bowl against Washington on January 1. Knox has some advice for the players:

“Guys, we’ve got this, there’s literally nothing we can do.”
