Penn State’s 2024 offense received some good news Friday, as tight end Tyler Warren announced that he will return for his fifth season. Warren made the announcement in a social media post.

“Having the opportunity to compete against the best, be trained by the best and receive a world-class education is something I’m grateful for every day,” Warren wrote. “As I reflect on the past four years, I’m thankful for the memories and lessons learned alongside my teammates and coaches. I’m excited to have the opportunity to play in the Peach Bowl in just a few short days with a team I love and respect. We’ve done some great things as a family, but I do believe the best is yet to come.”

Warren (6-6, 257) represents a key offensive return for an offense that loses fellow tight end Theo Johnson. Warren has caught 10 touchdown passes the past two seasons, including a team-high seven this year. He was named third-team All-Big Ten after catching 29 passes and averaging 10.2 yards per reception. Warren ranks third on Penn State’s all-time list for receiving touchdowns by a tight end (11).

In particular, Warren was a red-zone asset. He ranked third among FBS tight ends in touchdown receptions, tied for third in red-zone receptions (nine) and tied for second in red-zone targets (14).
