Erin Hoare was the catalyst for everything in the midst.

The #1 (re)Draft pick and former Cat actually had a key role in providing the best utilization of the ball out of the middle. Hoare finished sixth overall with 250 hitouts, but her 77 hits to advantage put her in fourth place in the competition.
Her ability to make the most of the midfield was crucial to the development of the engine room into something truly formidable and to the Cats’ success in 2023.

Morrison placed 10th (63), 10th (146), and 5th (113) in those same categories, whereas McDonald came in second (75), fourth (164), and sixth (112).

Darcy Moloney, a young cat, achieved remarkable success as well. She broke her season disposal record this year, going from 109 last year to 185 in her career-best season. In addition, with 64 tackles for the season, she nearly doubled her previous best season tackle record.

  • Geelong’s attacking raids in 2023 relied heavily on pressure, with several Cats scoring highly in pressure-related categories. With a score of 287, Nina Morrison took the lead in pressure acts and finished third in the competition. Georgie Prespakis, with a score of 258, came in fifth.
