Transfer of Texas wide receiver Isaiah Neyor pledges to attend Nebraska.
After an official visit in the middle of the week, former Wyoming and Texas wide receiver Isaiah Neyor committed to Nebraska, giving Nebraska access to a veteran via the transfer portal at a time when the team was in need.
On Friday night, Neyor made his decision known on social media.
After spending two seasons in the Texas program, Neyor made his way onto the transfer portal in early December. After receiving interest from some of college football’s biggest names during a prior portal trip, he was seen as a significant addition to the Longhorns program. However, in 2022, he tore his ACL at fall camp, which presented a significant challenge for him to overcome while in Austin. He did, however, have success in college football, having competed under Craig Bohl.
Beginning his career at Wyoming, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver was an All-Mountain West standout after a 2021 season in which he grabbed in 44 receptions for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore. His 12 receiving touchdowns and 19.95 yards per reception led the MWC and placed him sixth and seventh in the FBS, respectively. That season, he had consecutive 100-yard performances against teams like Utah State and Boise State.
Neyor attended Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, where he played high school basketball. Prior to starting college, in 2018, he was selected to the second team of the All-District 4-6A after scoring 858 yards and eight touchdowns to lead his team to an 11-2 record.
With his acquisition, a youthful wide receiver group that consisted mostly of freshmen by the end of the previous season gains invaluable experience.
Neyor joins the Big Red via the transfer portal as their second offseason acquisition following cornerback Blye Hill, who committed and signed in December. Neyor might still be eligible to play for the Huskers for two more seasons.
