The New Orleans Saints Sign Former Green Bay Packers Running Back (Breaking)
The New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers had very different ends to their season. While both were in playoff contention, the Packers fought their way to the post-season by going 3-0 in their final three games. The Saints, however, went 1-2 in their final three games and failed to make the post-season.
Hours after the season was over for the Saints, news surfaced that they had signed a former Packers running back to a futures deal.
The Saints signed veteran RB James Robinson to a futures deal.
On Monday, the New Orleans Saints signed veteran running back James Robinson to a futures contract. New Orleans has decided to keep Robinson around for the 2024 season after adding him to its practice squad in early December. The 25-year-old was brought in to provide backup running back depth behind Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and rookie Kendre Miller.
Prior to joining the Saints, Robinson was on the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad and played in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, gaining two yards on one carry.
In 2020, the former undrafted rookie free agent had a 1,000-yard season with the Jacksonville Jaguars out of nowhere, however, he hasn’t been able to produce those same numbers since.
