Chelsea breaks silence on Chelsea Carabao Cup final defeat with one-word reaction

Current Chelsea news as Liverpool defeats the young Blues team in their first-ever cup final.

For the first time since Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, star Cole Palmer of Chelsea has spoken out. A tense match at Wembley ended with a header from Virgil van Dijk in the 118th minute breaking hearts.
Following Liverpool’s introduction of three teenagers, many would have backed Mauricio Pochettino’s team to win after they were tied 0-0 after ninety minutes. Conor Gallagher squandered a fantastic chance in the last minutes of regular time, but the Blues still managed to record 19 shots.

Chelsea had an opportunity to win their first prize under Todd Boehly’s ownership in extra time, but Reds goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher proved to be too strong. Van Dijk’s header from the front of the goal broke the tie and ended any chance of winning the match on penalties.
Over the coming days, concerns about Pochettino, Boehly, and the Clearlake Capital initiative will likely grow, particularly in light of the head coach’s apparent complete blank of Boehly during full time.

The Chelsea players’ response to the heartbreak at Wembley has been quite subdued. Palmer did, however, post a quick note on his Instagram story.
The forward posted the following message next to a photo of himself looking despondent at full time: “Pain *frustrated emoji* *sad face emoji* we’ll be back! *blue love heart emoji* Thank you to all of the fans for their support.

After the match, Pochettino was questioned about how he would assemble such a youthful team in light of the Wembley defeat. “Nothing, no, no,” he answered.
“They must experience the pain because they are experts in a very competitive field, and we must go forward now. We compete to win a trophy, but we were unsuccessful, so today it’s the same. There’s nothing you can say to cheer me up.

They must experience our agony as well. Naturally, realizing that we must put in more effort, perform better, and advance is also necessary. “It’s about arriving here first and then feeling what it means to play for a big trophy,” said the player referring to the competition that a team that has been together for the last six or seven years faces while playing at this level. After three or four years, Liverpool lost both the Champions League and the Europa League, but they continued to trust in the concept and improved the next season until they achieved their goals.
