SHOCKING NEWS: SIX PLAYERS ARE SUSPENDED…….

Harrison Ingram scored two goals in the first half.
In the first half, Harrison Ingram, who has now scored 1,000 points in his career, set the tone for UNC by snatching rebound after rebound and showcasing his scoring prowess around the basket. The Tar Heels led by 11 points going into the locker room thanks to Ingram’s 11 points and 12 rebounds in just 18 minutes of play. This is Ingram’s second consecutive double-double.

UNC basketball enhances paint points, defense, and rebounding.
In the first half, UNC’s defense outrebounded the Hokies 25–16 in rebounds while holding them to 41% shooting. Additionally, after attempting 11 free throws in the defeat at Syracuse, the Tar Heels made 11 of 13 in the first half. The teams traded baskets in the second half, giving the game an All-Star-like atmosphere, but UNC scored more than 50 points in the paint and won the rebounding battle by a large margin.

Virginia Tech will head on the road this weekend in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle with the No. 7 ranked team in the nation, North Carolina, in men’s college basketball at the Dean E Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Tar Heels are 19-6 overall this season and have dropped two of three games since their highlight win over archrival and No. 7 ranked Duke at the beginning of the month. They lost at home against Clemson followed by a win over Miami (FL) on the road before getting beat again against Syracuse on the road. Both losses were uncharacteristic for the once 11-1 ACC team. ACC Player of the Year favorite R.J. Davis leads the team in scoring averaging 21.4 points with 3.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. However, the pair of Harrison Ingram and Armando Bacot are some of the most pivotal. Bacot is averaging 14.2 points and 10.2 rebounds while Ingram chips in 12.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Bacot had his way in the second half, scoring 19 of his game-high 25 points after scoring just six points in the first. The native of Richmond, Virginia, defied Virginia Tech’s attempt to double team him by knowing when to attack the basket and when to find an open teammate.

All in all, it seemed like North Carolina was in control of the game but was unable to take the lead. Several times, the Hokies closed the gap, but the Tar Heels rallied each time.
Four players for North Carolina scored in double figures while the team shot 51.5% from the field. In addition to Bacot’s 25 points, RJ Davis scored 20, Cormac Ryan scored 16, and the graduate transfer had a strong comeback performance following a difficult second half against

Tyler Nickel, who is presumably the first former Tar Heel to return to Chapel Hill to play against the UNC basketball program, made his comeback with the Virginia Tech visit. Nickel’s first attempt was successful as anticipated; he finished with 14 points and three blocks in his limited minutes.

Attacking the rim and getting to the free throw line is precisely what Hubert Davis discussed in his press conference on Friday, and that is what North Carolina did.
