Despite Manchester United’s victory, Gabby Agbonlahor of Everton mocks Erik ten Hag’s dismissal on talkSPORT.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag “should go” despite guiding his club to a 2-0 win over Everton.

That is according to talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, who shared the verdict after the Red Devils beat the Toffees on Saturday (9 March).

Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford both scored penalties in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

“When I feel like a manager should go is when they start sounding deluded in their post-match interviews,” Agbonlahor said live on talkSPORT (9 March).

“The last few games, he’s coming out with statements like ‘we did well to try and get back into the game and get a goal.’

Fans aren’t stupid are they? You watch the game today, Everton getting 23 shots, and he’ll come out and say ‘this is great, it’s part of the process, 2-0, great win.’”

Were Everton unlucky not to overcome Manchester United?

The Toffees had so many chances to find the back of the net in Manchester, but much to the frustration of Sean Dyche, they couldn’t find a way past Andre Onana.

Manchester United meanwhile were clinical from the spot, with Fernandes and Rashford netting their penalties after fouls from James Tarkowski and Ben Godfrey.

The victory means the Red Devils are sixth in the Premier League table, with fans undoubtedly dreaming of Champions League football next season.

The Toffees meanwhile occupy 16th spot, and remain in a relegation scrap with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Luton Town.

The Merseyside outfit could, of course, be in further bother regarding their financial breaches, having already been deducted 10 points this season, although that has been reduced to six.

Everton really do need to start becoming more clinical in the final third, with Dyche running out of time to pick up some vital points as the season draws to a close.
