Tyrese Maxey made his way back to the court, how’d he look?

On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers took in the New York Knicks, looking to win their second game in a row against their division rivals.

Their last meeting on Sunday night proved to be a rather underwhelming game for both teams, as they both put up their lowest scoring tally of the season, with the Sixers coming out on top, 79-73.

The former Villanova guard would have trouble finding his footing, finishing the match with a game-high 19 points on 27 percent shooting, as both numbers prove to be far below his averages this season.

While Tom Thibodeau had his leading scorer on Sunday, the same couldn’t be said about Nick Nurse, who was without his leading two scorers.

Joel Embiid’s absence is nothing new, but Tyrese Maxey’s was a little more troubling for the Eastern Conference contenders, as he sat out of his fourth game due to the NBA’s Concussion Protocol.

Despite not playing in the first of the back-to-back meetings, Maxey made his return on Tuesday night, hoping to provide the Sixers with an offensive surge that they had been missing as of late.

The 23-year-old would make his impact felt immediately as he would go on to open the game off with ten points in the first quarter alone, with two of the shots coming from beyond the arch.

He would come back on in the second quarter to add two more points to his name, while also contributing four assists as well, which would help Philadelphia keep the game within a twenty point margin.

Nick Nurse would only end up using Maxey for the third quarter, where he’d score five more points before sitting out for the rest of his return, ending the night with 17 points on 42 percent shooting.

Maxey will have two more days to recover as the Sixers start to get ready for their visit to the Fiserv Forum where they’re set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
