Arsenal are set to make Eddie Nketiah available during the summer transfer window amid interest from West Ham, sources have told HITC.
The online source reported [15 March] that the Hammers are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old striker but will face competition from Bournemouth, Fulham and Leicester City, as well as Crystal Palace.
It is understood, as per The Sun, that West Ham were interested in Nketiah last summer, having become unsettled at the Emirates Stadium due to a lack of game time.
Could Eddie Nketiah be a ready-made replacement for Michail Antonio at West Ham United?
Considering Michail Antonio’s tender age of 33, and his torrid injury record this season, the Hammers must fast-track their search for a new forward.
However, the club must not rush into any decisions in the attacking department, especially with West Ham’s awful history with striker choices over the years, ranging from Simone Zaza to Jordan Hugill, to Lucas Perez
The attacking prowess of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus has served the club well and were at their very best against Freiburg on Thursday 14 March as the London side progressed in the Europa League once more.
But to take West Ham to the next level, the club must bring in a poacher who is flawless in the final third of the pitch, slotting past any shot-stopper, holding the ball up against any defender, or spraying passes to anywhere on the field.
Nketiah is far from the finished product, but at just 24 years of age, the Englishman has plenty of Premier League experience, which will attract Moyes to such a player.
Nketiah has made just 10 league starts this season but has five goals and two assists to his name, proving how clinical he can be, which is exactly what West Ham are in need of.
