Introducing Christian Hammer, the opponent of Dillian Whyte that Tyson Fury claimed he could defeat in ten beers.

Christian Hammer has the opportunity to take a mallet to the British boxing applecart again when he faces Dillian Whyte.

The 27-10 heavyweight returns to the ring for the first time since he was emphatically stopped by Joe Joyce in the summer of 2022. However, he is also known for breaking Liverpudlian hearts when he when he knocked out David Price in 2017.

Seven years after his decimation of the popular scouser, Hammer’s clash against Whyte is an opportunity to banish any lingering disrespect towards his ability. While the Sweet Science is no place for the thin skinned, any fighter would have been irked by Tyson Fury’s previous comments about his ability.

In 2015, Fury fought the Eastern European heavyweight before his world championship clash against Wladimir Klitschko. As he has done so many times, The Gypsy King took every opportunity he had to torment Hammer.

Before their clash at the O2 Arena, Fury said: “I should be able to come out of a rave at four in the morning, after drinking 10 pints, and still beat a man like that and if I couldn’t, I’d still be ashamed of myself. On a Richter scale of 10, on how concerned I am of Hammer, it’d be minus five.
