Dejan Kulusevski, a star for Tottenham Hotspur, gave his assessment on Lucas Bergvall’s performance for Djurgarden past weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski has delivered his verdict on Lucas Bergvall’s display for Djurgarden last weekend.

The end of the season is in sight and a huge few months are on the horizon.

Big places and prizes are up for grabs in the Premier League, then it’s almost straight into Euro 2024 and Copa America, all whilst the summer transfer window comes into greater focus.

Remarkably, Tottenham Hotspur already have their first signing of the summer transfer window wrapped up.

Spurs pounced to sign Djurgarden talent Lucas Bergvall just after the January transfer window ended, confirming that he would arrive in the summer.

Barcelona had been closing in on Bergvall before Tottenham swooped in to hijack the deal and sign the teenager.

The move means Bergvall will link up with another Swede in Dejan Kulusevski and the Tottenham winger has been sharing his thoughts on the deal…

Dejan Kulusevski on Lucas Bergvall

Kulusevski is currently away on international duty, preparing with Sweden as they take on Portugal and Albania.

The Spurs star has spoken to Aftonbladet and was unsurprisingly asked about Bergvall after his Premier League move.

Kulusevski noted that he told Bergvall ‘the truth’ about Tottenham, praising the club, the city of London, his teammates and the impact of boss Ange Postecoglou.

‘That was enough’ for Bergvall to pick Tottenham with Kulusevski not worried at all about the prospect of him choosing Barcelona instead.

Kulusevski even watched Bergvall last weekend as Djurgarden beat rivals AIK on penalties in the Svenska Cup semi-finals.

Bergvall scored in normal time and Kulusevski was impressed, believing that the teenager showed he is a ‘really good player’.Kulusevski also feels that Bergvall is good enough to play for the Sweden senior team right now but just urged him to make the most of his chances in the Under-21’s.

“I told him the truth. How much I enjoyed Tottenham as a club and London as a city, how good the coach was and how good my teammates were. That was enough, it seems,” said Kulusevski.

“No absolutely not [worried Bergvall would pick Barcelona]. It’s not easy to get into a position where you can choose which team to play in. It was entirely his decision, but I was really happy that he chose Tottenham.”

“It will come. He’s good enough to be here, I think. He is a really good player, you saw that in the derby this weekend as well. But it must take time. Now he has to play well in the U21 national team and show that he wants to be here. First of all, it is important for him to do well against Macedonia in the U21’s,” he added.
