Tottenham: Fabio Paratici è al lavoro mentre la squadra si avvicina a Franceso Camarda, il record-breaker della Serie A.

Fabio Paratici is clearly still offering Tottenham advice in the background after a reported approach for AC Milan gem Franceso Camarda, according to Paul Robinson.

It was reported by Corriere Dello Sport’s print edition on 8 March that Spurs, along with Manchester City and Arsenal, had “obtained information” on the 16-year-old and have sent scouts to check on him.

Camarda came onto the radar after making his debut for the Rossoneri last November amid an injury crisis, becoming Serie A’s youngest-ever player after receiving dispensation to play as he was under 16 at the time.

Paratici resigned as Tottenham’s sporting director last April after failing to overturn a 30-month ban from all footballing activity (The Guardian).

Former Spurs goalkeeper Robinson – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – says the latest links are a clear indicator he is still offering advice in the background, though

think we’ve seen Tottenham do it before, haven’t we? We’ve seen them buy young talent with potential,” he said.

“I think with Bentancur, Kulusevski, Vicario, Van de Ven, that type of recruitment that impacts the first team immediately, they’ve been very successful recently and with the scouting network and the people they’ve got in Italy you obviously put your trust in them, a very young striker they’ll pay a decent fee for him.

Whether he’ll come into the first-team squad initially or be loaned out is another thing. I think from a Spurs fan’s point of view, the stability and the strength of the squad is the most important thing.

“You look at Paratici’s involvement, he’s clearly still there in the background with Daniel Levy giving help and advice, but not working in an official capacity.

“I think that’s a relationship that works, if that’s another from Paratici’s stable then the recent recruitment you put your trust in those type of people and the players they want to bring in.”Fabio Paratici involvement mooted amid Tottenham links to Francesco Camarda

It is always exciting to see young talent linked with Tottenham and clearly the strategy ever since Ange Postecoglou took over is to target players with potential who they can nurture for the first team.

What is also interesting is Robinson’s suggestion that Paratici is still in the club’s ear giving advice on players to target and certainly there have been success stories in the past.

If Tottenham can qualify for the Champions League next season then obviously you would hope there will be some moves to reinforce the first-team squad.

But bringing in exciting talents who can develop and become megastars is also a prospect that Spurs fans should enjoy too.
