As the GB Boxers return from Socikas with six medals, Okoh wins gold.

THE GB Boxing squad will return from the Socikas in Kaunas, Lithuania with six medals including one gold as Isaac Okoh was crowned cruiserweight champion following victory.

England’s Ramtin Musah and Wales’ Scott Richards had to settle for silver after losing via narrow split decisions in their respective light-heavyweight and flyweight finals.

The final medals were earned by Hamza Mehmood, Joe Tyers and Reese Lynch who all took bronze having reached the semi-final stages.

Cruiserweight Okoh put in a hard-fought performance in his final bout of the competition to come out on top of a split decision against Kazakhstan’s Abzal Kuttybekov to earn his gold medal in Kaunas.

On his way to the final, he scored a unanimous points victory in his semi-final clash with Ukraine’s Pavlo Michkovskyi.

It means Okoh has now won three gold medals at his last three tournaments having stood top of the podium at the both the 2023 and 2024 editions of the Boxam in La Nucia, Spain.

Harris Akbar was the other member of the squad to compete in Lithuania, but the light-middleweight missed out on the medal stages.
