West Ham United: Gary Lineker shares what David Moyes said about Lucas Paqueta v EnglandWest Ham manager David Moyes wanted Lucas Paqueta brought off as soon as possible during the clash between Brazil and England.

That is according to Gary Lineker, with Moyes in attendance for the international friendly at Wembley on Saturday (23 March).

Hammers ace Paqueta started and played 71 minutes as Brazil won 1-0 thanks to Endrick’s 80th-minute goal.

“Micah you sat next to David Moyes throughout the whole game,” Lineker said on The Rest Is Football podcast (9mins 45secs, 25 March). “And most of the time he just was saying ‘come on, get Paqueta off, get Paqueta off, give him a rest.’”

David Moyes ultimately gets his wish with West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta

Moyes will undoubtedly be worrying about all of his Hammers internationals during the latest break, with the manager not wanting any casualties ahead of a key period at club level.

Fortunately, Paqueta seems to have gone through the match unscathed, which will come as a relief to his club manager, particularly given how the midfield ace has only just returned from injury.

His return from a lengthy spell on the sidelines has coincided with a return to form for the East London club, with Paqueta undoubtedly a crucial player for Moyes.

He was certainly heavily involved against the Three Lions, with the Brazil ace the one dishing out the tackles rather than receiving them, with the England players reacting angrily to one of his many fouls.
