Full Detail: Tottenham Hotspur is eager to sign a striker from Newcastle United in order to bolster their attack in the upcoming summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on recruiting Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak as they look to bolster their attack in the summer.

In a recent report, The Sun stated that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on recruiting Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer. It is believed that Spurs would have to rival Arsenal in the race to land the Swedish forward in the upcoming transfer period.

Isak’s Impressive Record At St. James’ Park

Isak is having a good campaign at the Tyneside club after managing to put in a series of impressive performances as the focal point of Eddie Howe’s attack. The Swedish sensation has found the back of the net on 18 occasions and earned one assist in 31 appearances for Newcastle this season on all fronts.

The 24-year-old has been a decent contributor in the final third as he is averaging 2.3 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 79.7% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored)

His current contract at the Tyneside club will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap later this year.

Isak A Decent Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?

Isak excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a decent finisher in the final third and can create the odd chance for his teammates on the offensive end of the field.

The Swedish talent can even make some clever runs with the ball in the opponent’s half. Standing at 1.92m, he can use his strong frame to hold possession up for his team. Isak would no doubt add more goals to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He could even help Spurs challenge for some major honours over the next few years.

At 24, Isak has got his best years ahead of him which makes him a great fit for the North London club‘s offensive needs in the long run. With all things considered, Postecoglu would be wise to go all out to get the Swedish sensation on board at the end of this season.
