In light of the dismal Sheffield United tie, Mauricio Pochettino discusses what Chelsea has to accomplish during the summer transfer season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Despite a dramatic late 4-3 win against Manchester United last week, the Blues were held to a surprising 2-2 draw by the Premier League’s bottom side, Sheffield United, on Sunday. Pochettino indicated after the match at Bramall Lane that his players are not “mature enough” yet and called for the issue to be addressed in the summer transfer window.

  “We need to accept, working and trying to fix this type of problem,” Pochettino told reporters. “Always when the end of the season arrives, we need to analyse the squad and what we are missing to try to add people with the capacity to provide what we are seeing today, to improve in the next seasons.
  
  “It’s about identifying the profile. We are learning how the players need to learn our demands from the coaching staff. It’s always a process to build and have the capacity to take a decision, but the right decision, and one you have to agree with the coaching staff, the sporting directors and the owners. Otherwise it is not easy to improve.”
