Gabriel Jesus has insisted he is unbothered by speculation linking Arsenal with a striker this summer. The Gunners are the top scorers in the Premier League but continue to be linked to a number.

The likes of Evan Ferguson and Viktor Gyokeres are among the players who the Arsenal hierarchy are rumoured to be looking at as Arteta seeks to bolster his fire power for next season. As the club’s first choice number nine this would seemingly put Jesus’ position under threat. The Brazilian, though, has insisted that he does not pay any mind to the rumours.MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - MARCH 31: Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal FC at Etihad Stadium on March 31, 2024 in Manchester, England.(Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA/Getty Images)

“(Edu and Mikel Arteta) already know if they want (another striker) or not,” he said ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League first leg clash with Bayern Munich. “Maybe this question is for them. My job is to work and train hard, to Improve what I have to improve, to win the games and to help Arsenal win trophies. The speculation will always be there. Not just here, but every club. People want to decide who the club should sign, but this this doesn’t just happen with Arsenal but with lots of clubs.”

Despite wearing the number nine shirt at Arsenal Jesus has played much of his recent football out on the left wing due to Kai Havertz’s form. The German has started the last seven games as a centre forward and scored four goals in that time.

Jesus did admit after signing from Manchester City last summer that he viewed his best position as being a nine. However, with Arsenal in the home stretch of challenges for both the Premier League and Champions League the Brazilian says that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team.
