Everton: Sam Allardyce discusses the Farhad Moshiri decision as the 777 Partners situation remains unclear

Sam Allardyce insists Farhad Moshiri is making every effort to sell Everton amid the ongoing uncertainty regarding the 777 Partners takeover.

The American investment fund agreed to buy Moshiri’s full 94.1 per cent stake in the club seven months ago.

However, it is still unclear if 777 will be given approval to complete a takeover, with a further update possibly forthcoming on Monday (15 April).

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast [15 April, 09:43am], Allardyce said: “They certainly need to be taken over.

“There seems to be a lot of suspicion about the finances of 777 and whether they’re credible or not.

Many efforts, particularly by Farhad, are being made. Unfortunately, there’s been constant change that has caused the problems they have now.

“Obviously they’ve wasted so much in the transfer market and not been able to recoup much of it. It leaves them in a difficult financial position.

It was a great effort with the money they put in, but it wasn’t structured in the right way. The recruitment was, and is, the biggest problem.”

Everton awaiting further news on 777 Partners takeover

Given 777 wanted approval from the Premier League by the end of 2023, it is fair to say this situation has dragged on way too long.

The biggest worry for the club now is that the takeover is blocked and that Everton are left in the lurch so to speak.

It remains to be seen if there are any other investors out there waiting to pounce if 777 are unable to proceed.

What next for Everton and the 777 Partners takeover fiasco?

Plenty has been said about 777’s finances – rightly so – and if they are unable to show they can viably run the club then they cannot continue.

Quite why it has taken this long for a decision to be made one way or another is truly bizarre.

Everton fans just want clarity now, but it is looking like we will have to wait until at least the summer to find out for definite what will happen.
