Justin Allen has questioned whether West Ham United fans would accept Kieran McKenna as the club’s new manager.
The journalist took to his official X account (14 April) to suggest the Ipswich Town boss as a potential replacement at the London Stadium for David Moyes.
Allen wrote, “West Ham fans .. any thoughts on getting Kieran McKenna in as the next manager?”
It comes after McKenna was named Championship Manager of the Season on Sunday (via BBC Sport, 14 April), with the 37-year-old having guided Ipswich to the top of the Championship table with three games left to play.
Could Kieran McKenna replace West Ham boss David Moyes at the London Stadium?
Following their 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final, the Hammers were beaten 2-0 at home by Fulham on Sunday (14 April).
It leaves West Ham on the brink of exit from the Europa League and eighth in the Premier League, throwing into doubt whether or not the club will qualify for any form of European football next season.
Moyes’ future has been a continuous topic of discussion throughout the current campaign, with some supporters having grown tired of the Scot’s pragmatic style of play.
McKenna is one of the hottest young managers in English football, and it has previously been suggested that he could take over from Moyes at the London Stadium.
