Charles Barkley and Shaq are criticized by kenricks Perkins, who says, “It’s Obviously (That) They Don’t Watch Basketball.”

Kendrick Perkins, a rising NBA analyst at ESPN, doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind, especially when criticizing fellow basketball legends like Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal. During an appearance on The Michael Kay Show, Perkins didn’t hold back in calling out Barkley and O’Neal for their lack of homework when discussing the Knicks.

When asked about O’Neal’s prediction that the Orlando Magic would sweep the Knicks and Barkley’s support for the Indiana Pacers over the Knicks, Perkins defended New York’s performance on the court. He praised the team’s recent West Coast road trip and highlighted Tom Thibodeau’s coaching prowess and the versatility of the Knicks’ roster.

While some may see Perkins’ comments as pandering to Knicks fans on a New York radio show, it’s a bold move in sports broadcasting. Perkins isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo or show deference to established figures like Barkley and O’Neal.

In the sports media landscape, it’s often understood that former players like O’Neal, with their various ventures and commitments, may not always be as deeply immersed in the NBA as full-time analysts like Perkins. Yet, Perkins isn’t concerned with maintaining the traditional “brotherhood” among NBA big men or adhering to the path paved by Barkley and O’Neal in broadcasting.

Instead, Perkins is focused on delivering his unique takes and making a name for himself in the industry, regardless of whose feathers he may ruffle.
